THE POLICY OF EXTENDING GOVERNMENT AID TO ADDITIONAL RAILROADS TO THE PACIFIC, BY GUARANTEEING INTEREST ON THEIR BONDS. REPORT OF THE MAJORITY OF THE SENATE COMMITTEE ON PACIFIC RAILROAD, FEBRUARY 19, 1869. Washington: Government Printing Office, 1869. 23x15 cm, pp. [1] 2-31 [32: blank], 1 map (folded), original gray wrappers printed in black, sewn. First edition. Caption title: "40th Congress, 3d Session, Senate, Rep. Com. No. 219. / In the Senate of the United States. / February 19, 1869. / Mr. Stewart made the following / REPORT / [To accompany bill S. No. 899.]." Folded map measures 41x75.8 cm (16x29 inches). The spine glue has deteriorated so the text block of sewn signatures with map attached is loose in the wrappers (we would be happy to fix this if you so require), the map has a faint tide mark along the bottom margin. Overall, quite a nice copy. (#166844).

Price: $350.00
