Memorial to Susanna Bryant Dakin (1905-1966), California historian, patron of the arts and philanthropist, a major friend of the Bancroft Library who supported major acquisitions, including the library of Martin Carrencedo and the Honeyman Collection of early Californian and Western pictorial material. Dakin wrote the introduction to Yo Semite 1878: adventures of N & C. Journal and drawings by Carrie E. LeConte (San Francisco: The Book Club of California, MCMXLIV [i.e. 1964]).
