Charles Bierstadt (1819–1903), older brother of the landscape painter Albert Bierstadt, moved permanently to Niagara Falls in 1866 where he specialized in views of the falls for the tourist trade. He won the highest award at the 1873 Vienna World's Fair for his stereo views of Niagara Falls. In 1870 he visited California and photographed Yosemite and other Northern California scenes. Mount rubbed at edges, image fine. Bierstadt's images of the C. P. R. R. are uncommon. (#166961).
