Report of the Acting Superintendent of the Sequoia National Park to the Secretary of the Interior. 1891 [through] 1915. Washington: Government Printing Office, 1891-1915. 22.5 cm, 24 volumes, original wrappers. First editions. Twenty-four reports were issued annually through 1915 (with the exception of 1898, when none was printed). The reports, prepared by the superintendents or acting superintendents of Sequoia and General Grant national parks, were issued separately and also were collected in the annual reports of the Secretary of the Interior. Collectively, these reports comprise an important primary source for the history of the parks during this period. For a complete checklist of the reports with historical commentary see Farquhar (1948), title 23, pp. 101-04. The 1916 annual report for Sequoia and General Grant national parks appeared in the Annual Report of the Superintendent of National Parks ... (Washington: Government Printing Office, 1916). Reports issued after 1916 appeared in the Annual Report of the Director of the National Park Service (Washington: Government Printing Office, 1917--). All reports are nearly fine to fine in their original wrappers. The set lacks the report for 1894. (#167138).
