The first of nineteen reports prepared by the Yosemite Commissioners. These reports, with some variation in titles and printer's imprints, were printed biennially (save for the 1880 report) through 1904, except for the years 1899/1900, for which no report was published. In 1906 the federal government took back the grant and no report was issued for 1905/1906. For a checklist of the reports see Farquhar (1948), title 23. This is the variant printing the report but not the laws. The report, dated 14 November 1867, is signed "J. D. Whitney, Chairman of the Executive Committee," and "was probably reprinted for Whitney or for the State Geological Survey" according to Farquhar. Currey and Kruska 34. Farquhar 23.
