[1908?]. 19x13.5 cm, pp. [1-3] 4-99 [100: blank], illustrations, original gray wrappers printed in green, side stapled. First edition. Diary of a three-month trip by rail from Newburgh, N. Y., to Arizona and California and return, 4 February to 22 April, 1908. About a third of the work is devoted to her stay in Bisbee, Arizona, with details on the mining activity there, pages 13-46. After arriving in Southern California the author traveled north, visiting Pacific Grove, Monterey (Hotel Del Monte) and San Francisco. Most of her visit to California was spent in the Central Valley, five weeks in and around Fresno, pages 65-88. Mrs. Cole returned East by train over the Sierra Nevada. Wrappers worn at edges, two corner tips chipped, a very good copy. (#167384).
