Elaborate color promotional travel folder printed in Chicago by Poole Brothers. Includes "Alaska," a long illustrated article by John Muir, abridged from PICTURESQUE CALIFORNIA AND THE REGION WEST OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS, FROM ALASKA TO MEXICO (1887-1888) that adds Muir's account of "his exploration of Glacier Bay in 1879, making this the first publication of his writing of his exploration of Glacier Bay. Muir closes his essay with brief comments on his return visits in 1880 and 1890 ..." (Kimes). Verso comprises three large color maps, one being "The Route of the Alaska Excursion Steamers" (copyright 1891 by Charles S. Fee) and schedules for excursions "for the season of 1892" to the North Pacific Coast and Alaska and Yellowstone National Park. BAL 14745. Kimes 184.
