Camp Curry. 14 different colored views from photographs of Yosemite National Park printed on Camp Curry menus from the late 1930s through the early 1950s. [Yosemite Valley, California: Yosemite Park and Curry Company], n.d. [Circa late 1930s - early 1950s.]. Single sheets folded to make four pages, 16x11.3 cm (6 1/4 x 4 7/16 inches). 32 Camp Curry breakfast, lunch or dinner menus, all dated from 1938 to 1953. Each image measures 12.4x9.3 cm (4 7/8 x 3 5/8 inches). The lithograph views are captioned "Autumn in Yosemite" (2 copies), "The Ahwahnee" (1 copy), "Bridal Veil Falls" (6 copies), "El Capitan" (3 copies), "Half Dome from Glacier Point" (1 copy), "Mirror Lake" (1 copy), Nevada Falls" (3 copies), "Sentinel Rock in Winter" (2 copies), "Unicorn, Coxcomb and Echo Peaks from Tuolumne Meadows" (1 copy), "Vernal Falls" (4 copies) "Vernal Fall" (2 copies; a different view, probably later, with "Fall" rather than "Falls" in the caption), "Vernal and Nevada Falls from Glacier Point" (3 copies), "Yosemite Falls" (2 copies), and "Yosemite Ski Country" (1 copy). None of the menus have a printer's imprint. Apparently, there were at least 16 different views used on the menus: two not present here are "Cathedral Rocks" and "Half Dome from Sentinel Bridge." The earliest menus have descriptive text printed on page [2] opposite the menu printed on page [3]; later menus have page [2] blank. Most, if not all, of the photographs appear to have been taken in the mid to late 1930s. Condition ranges from fine to very good, a few of the latter having mild stains and/or folds. Most are better than very good. (#167698).
