A list of Sierra plants found above 6700 feet, compiled for use by the expert rather than the layman. Includes the boreal flora for the entire range and lists grasses, sedges, and rushes, as well as ferns and flowering plants. Provides background information on Sierra Nevada geology, topography, and climatology. Provenance: Inscribed by Smiley at the top edge of the front free endpaper: "With the sincere regards of the / author ---- / F. J. Smiley." Cloth a bit worn at edges, front hinge a trifle weak, text block trimmed for binding, a good copy. (#167949).
