THE DRAGON KING'S DAUGHTER: TEN TANG DYNASTY STORIES. Peking: Foreign Languages Press, 1954. Octavo, illustrations, folded map, pictorial boards. First edition. This book, collecting ten stories (including three tales of the supernatural), was once owned by Joanna Russ who sent it to influential F&SF editor/publisher/critic David G. Hartwell with the hope he "might like to try selling for me (on commission natch). It's the only book I've got that might even be worth anything." Accompanied by her short letter of conveyance dated 17 March 1975, signed "Joanna." Lower spine end chipped, text block shaken, a good copy in dust jacket with wear at edges and matching chip at lower spine end. (#167992).
