California, the camper's paradise [caption title]. [San Francisco: Southern Pacific Company], n.d. 22.6x20 cm folded to 22.6x10 cm, pp. [1-24] (not paginated), 33 illustrations from photographs, color drawing on cover (duplicated on each outer panel), printed in orange and black throughout, pictorial self wrappers, stapled. New edition. A folder promoting California as a camping paradise. "There is no country the peer of California for camping ... From northern border to southern line California calls to the nature lover and the artist with a charm that once known is life lasting." Among the regions promoted are "the Yosemite Valley" and "the Canyons of the Kings and Kern." The "Recapitulation of Resorts" includes brief descriptions of tourist accommodations in the Yosemite and Sequoia regions. This 24-page edition is not dated and does not have the Southern Pacific publication printing code usually found on their promotional material. There were several editions of this brochure, the earliest a 12-page version issued in 1907 with printing code "A 179 (6-27-07-20M)," followed by editions dated 1909 and 1910 (both verified). OCLC lists editions for 1908 (a misdated 1907 edition) and 1911 (probably a misdated earlier edition). Some wear at edges, outer panel rubbed along folds, a good copy. (#168350).
