First edition. A garish Victorian parlor book illustrating Yosemite Valley in vivid color. The chromolithographic views often were used with promotional material issued by various California merchants in a number of formats, including broadsides which reproduced a chromolithograph, part of a poem, and advertising copy. CSmH attributes the compilation of this book to Henry J. Crocker. Currey and Kruska 97. Leather chipped and worn at edges (which is usually the case); internally fine. A much better copy than usual.
