[Washington, D. C.]: U. S. Government Printing Office, 1928. 23.5x14.8 cm, pp. i-ii 1-38, 4 illustrations (on covers), 6 maps (2 folded), original pictorial cream wrappers printed in black, stapled. At head of title: "United States / Department of the Interior / Hubert Work, Secretary / National Park Service / Stephen T. Mather, Director." Provides general information about Sequoia and General Grant National Parks, rules and regulations for the parks, approved 14 January 1928, and "Authorized rates for public utilities, season of 1928," which provides detailed information on goods and services provided by camps, stores, and transportation within the parks. "Rues and Regulations (Briefed)" are printed on the inside rear cover. The maps are: "Map Showing National Parks in California with Principal Connecting Automobile Highways," "Railroads Tributary to National Parks in California," "Map of Giant Forest and Immediate Surroundings" (folded), "Central Area of Giant Forest," "Map showing Location of Principal Trees in General Grant National Park," and "Map of Sequoia and General Grant National Parks" (folded). The large folded map of the parks "engraved and printed by the U. S. Geological Survey," shows roads, trails, visitor services, and topographic points of interest, with "good" and "poor" auto roads and trails printed in red. Small water stain at upper fore-edge corner of front wrapper and several text leaves, a very good copy. These circulars are chock full of interesting statistics and are underrated as resource material, and all are now uncommon. (#170441).
