First edition. This edition was issued in paperbound format only. "This parody on 'King Solomon's Mines' was for many years attributed to Andrew Lang. In 1921, however, writing to the SKETCH in August concerning a caricature of Haggard by 'Maat' which had appeared in its issue for Aug. 3, Ernest Vizetelly gave the name of the author of 'King Solomon's Wives' as Sir Henry Chartres Biron who wrote it when he was a young barrister." - Scott.
