Notice[.] On arrival at El Portal see clerk of Hotel Del Portal and procure ticket for the stage trip to the Merced and Tuolumne Big Tree Groves, and from thence to the Valley, arriving there at 4 p. m. same day ... Big Trees Auto Service Co. El Portal, California. N.p., n.d. [Circa 1913-1917.]. Advertising card, 9x14 cm. The auto trip to Yosemite Valley by way of the Merced and Tuolumne Big Tree Groves is advertised on a split back postcard. The photograph on the recto shows an auto stage in the Tuolumne Grove. The auto stage line was operated by the Foresta Land Company which constructed an access road from El Portal to Foresta, opened 25 August 1913, a few days after automobiles were permitted to enter Yosemite National Park by way of the Coulterville Road.
