First edition in English, first printing. A collection of four stories by Verne, "Doctor Ox's Experiment," "Master Zacharius," "A Drama in the Air" and "A Winter in the Ice," and "The Fortieth French Ascension of Mont Blanc" by Jules's brother Paul. Osgood's "authorized" edition announced as "in press" on 2 May 1874 was published in their unillustrated small format "Saunterer" series at $1.00, perhaps to compete with the Gill edition collecting the same material, but translated by A.
