First illustrated edition. According to the limitation page, this would be part of the issue limited to eight numbered copies on Imperial Japanese paper, including a watercolor, an original drawing, a suite of early states, and a suite in black, but it is not numbered and has "exemplaire imprimé spécialement pour M. Ary Rapoport [copy specially printed for Mr. Ary Rapoport]" in place of a number. Collects "Chapitre XVIII: Première Guerre Interplanétaire" (1951-1964) and "Chapitre CXVIII: La Vie des Hommes" (1954-1982). Part of an an episodic, ironic future history that includes LE CHAPITRE SUIVANT (1927, translated as THE NEXT CHAPTER: THE WAR AGAINST THE MOON).
