A promotional for the Los Molinos Colony, a Tehama County agricultural colony formed by subdividing parts of the extensive landholdings of the Cone family, owners of tens of thousands of acres in Tehama County. The land was first subdivided in 1905 and in 1911 expanded north into highly fertile grain fields past Dye Creek. The colony was meticulously planned to attract small-scale independent farmers. The land company advertised the region heavily, convincing settlers to purchase 20-40 acre plots. This size was widely considered ideal for supporting family managed dairy operations, walnut groves, and fruit orchards. Although the property was widely promoted, little promotional material for the colony survives today. Not in Rocq (1970). Light wear to edges of wrappers, a very good copy.
