The plot centers on a convicted murderer who has served forty-seven years in Glory Prison and has earned $25,452.32, saving his earnings in the "Work and Hope Savings Plan" at the local bank. His problem is how to get his money from the bank. The story, set in 1935, was made into a wonderful movie starring James Stewart and George Kennedy. Cloth lightly rubbed at head and tail of spine panel, some spotting to top edge stain, a very good copy in very good dust jacket with light wear at head and tail of spine panel and corner tips and 29mm closed tear at top front spine fold.
