First edition, first printing. Dedicated to the Sierra Club, this book was intended to be a comprehensive tourist guide to Yosemite National Park. It is still of value for its historical references and for its extensive pictorial coverage of the Yosemite high country. The quality of the illustrations, including many from photographs made by Arthur C. Pillsbury, H. C.Tibbitts, George Fiske, J. T. Boysen, and Francis P. Farquhar, was unsurpassed at the time of publication. In a review published in the Sierra Club Bulletin, IX (January 1915), page 328, Marion Randall Parsons called the illustrations "interesting and even remarkable" and comments that "many an outing member by merely opening its pages will find himself transported to those high trails and camps among which his memory so loves to dwell.
