Print measures 11x19 cm (4 1/4 x 7 1/2 inches); affixed to larger gray mount captioned "Clarks" [sic] on verso and with Fiske's credit rubber stamped in purple ink. The Wawona Hotel, built by the Washburn brothers, opened in 1879. Clark's, later Clark and Moore's, later Clark's Station, later Big Tree Station, was renamed Wawona in 1884 by Jean Bruce Washburn. A classic, and perhaps earliest, photograph of this Victorian hotel. Print faded, otherwise very good. (#179772).
