THE FANCY FAIR. TO WHICH IS ADDED STARLIGHT: OR A SCENE AT TWEEDALE. London: J. Hatchard and Son, 1833. Octavo, pp. [1-4] [1] 2-121 [122: blank] [123-124: ads], original plum cloth, front panel stamped in gold, yellow coated endpapers, all edges untrimmed. First edition. The narrator, if not the author, was evidently a doctor and writes here about some of his cases. A short grim narrative, its original purpose being a little unclear, but its present effect is clear enough, illuminating the vanity of medical science. Block, The English Novel 1740-1850, p. 72. COPAC records five copies, OCLC adds one more. Spine panel slightly sunned, binding leaned, a very good copy. (#115116).
