Includes "Moffat the Missionary," "Halcyon Days" and "The Rewards of Industry," three didactic tales for young readers first published in STORIES FOR SUMMER DAYS AND WINTER NIGHTS. The stories appear to have been first published by Groombridge and Sons in the 1850s as a series of chapbooks and later collected in various configurations and under various titles through the 1870s. Prize label dated 1888 affixed to front paste-down. Cloth rubbed lightly worn at spine ends and corner tips and rubbing along outer joints, a very good copy. Scarce.
