The first book to be published dealing solely with trajectory calculations for space flight. "One of the most important [early] publications [on interplanetary rocket flight], following close on the heels of Oberth's book ..." (Ley). "Between the time Oberth's first book was published in 1923 and the appearance of his WEGE ZUR RAUMSCHIFFAHRT in 1929, a number of other works appeared ... Of these, Hohmann's mathematical treatment of orbital and interplanetary flight mechanics was the most advanced.
