Journey to Ken is a popular and influential science fiction novel and comic strip written by the Norwegian author Christian Haugen under the pseudonym James K. Anthony The novel is a space opera similar to American pulp fiction of the time in which the space cruiser Tagan travels through space to the planet Ken. The novel was first published in Sweden in 1925 under the title RESAN TILL KEN. An edition in the original Norwegian, REISEN TIL KEN, was published in 1926. It was also translated into German as DIE REISE NACH DEM KEN (1927). The story was adapted into a comic strip (written by Haugen and drawn by Arent Christensen) which ran in the magazine Arbeidermagasinet for Alle [Work Magazine for All] in 1933-1934, and was continued by the same team as "Den Tause Verden" in 1935-1936. Journey to Ken is one of the world's earliest science fiction comic strips. The comic was published in book form by Thule Publishing in 1993. Anatomy of Wonder (1987) 6-378. A very good copy.
