(#151509) THE TARZAN TWINS. Edgar Rice Burroughs.
THE TARZAN TWINS ...

THE TARZAN TWINS. Joliet, Illinois, New York, Boston: Published by The P. F. Volland Company, [1927]. Octavo, pp. [1-5] 6-126 [127-128: ads], numerous illustrations, mostly in color, by Douglas Grant, original pictorial boards with blue cloth shelf back, pictorial endpapers. First edition, first printing. Teitler 200. Heins TTw-1. A touch of rubbing to spine ends and corner tips, a fine copy with bright cover, clean interior and tight inner hinges. The first printing of this book (designated "first edition" on verso of title leaf) was issued in a paper box without a dust jacket. All later printings were issued in dust jacket and the publisher instructed retailers and jobbers to replace boxes with extra dust jackets supplied for all unsold first printing copies. This copy has both box (which is rare) and jacket (which is uncommon). The box is a bit rubbed, but fine, the jacket is only good -- there is considerable tape and from the spine panel and front corner tips. Nevertheless, an amazing copy of the Tarzan "black tulip." (#151509).
