(#154216) DIE GREISELWERKE: KRIMINALROMAN. Adrien Turel.

DIE GREISELWERKE: KRIMINALROMAN. Zurich / New York: Verlag Oprercht, [1942]. Octavo, pp. [1-4] 5-140, original pictorial white wrappers printed in mustard and black. First edition. A chilling near future dystopian thriller by a Russian born Swiss-German writer of books and articles presenting his radical, eccentric utopian world view. Written in the 1920s, but not published until 1942, the novel portrays a human society totally dependent on artificial food (made by Ultra-Sonne, rays which produce a weekly grain harvest), manipulated by mass media, and dominated by the perverted technology of an industrial behemoth which is degrading the planet's ecosystem and which will ultimately result in the extinction of all living things and a ruined Earth. Bloch (2010) 3626. Not in Brandt or Nagl. Aside from mild tanning, a fine copy. (#154216).

Price: $450.00
