[High Sierra; Yosemite] Matterhorn Peak as seen from Big Twin Lakes, The Crags Resort, Bridgeport, Cal. Real photo postcard (RPPC). Pomona, California: Frashers Foto, n.d. Circa 1920s to 1930s. Unused RPPC. A photograph of the eastern High Sierra crest on the northeastern boundary of Yosemite National Park by the American Southwest's most prolific photographer. Over a period of some forty years in the commercial photograph business Burton Frasher Sr. accumulated over 60,000 negatives, most of them for his postcard business, which produced and sold millions of picture postcards. An avid angler, Frasher's first commercial photographs were confined to the "areas he knew best as fisherman -- mostly the Sierra country from Bishop to Lake Tahoe." - Burton Frasher Jr., quoted in Holt, Raymond M., "Frashers Fotos -- Postcard King of the West," an article originally written 1959, published in the Pomona Valley Historian. Fine. (#165030).
