[1914]. 23.5x14 cm, pp. [1] 2-16, 15 illustrations (including 2 on covers), original pictorial wrappers, stapled. First edition. A promotional brochure that includes brief descriptions of the Mariposa Big Tree Grove, "one of the county's greatest assets," and Yosemite Valley, "the greatest feature of the county," pp. 12-15. Statistics include data for the year 1914. The brochure notes that Yosemite Valley "can be most easily reached by the Yosemite Valley Railroad ... which ascends the beautiful Merced river canyon to its terminus at El Portal ... From El Portal automobile stages carry the traveler ... into the heart of the Valley ..." In 1915 Yosemite motor stages replaced horse-drawn stages. Eight of the fifteen illustrations are from photographs taken in and near Yosemite Valley. Rocq (1970) 5121 (locating one copy, at the Alameda Free Library). A very good copy. (#166793).
