Produced to promote San Francisco and adjacent tourist attractions during the California Midwinter International Exposition held in San Francisco in 1894. This is a "carefully revised and enlarged" version of Evans' ALL ABOUT THE MIDWINTER FAIR, SAN FRANCISCO, AND INTERESTING FACTS CONCERNING CALIFORNIA, published by W. B. Bancroft in 1894 (two editions, 111 pages and 195 pages, respectively). Many northern California scenic attractions are briefly described, with emphasis on tourist destinations to the north of San Francisco with interesting illustrations of area resorts and scenic attractions. Yosemite is mentioned and illustrated on pages 11-13. Not in Rocq (1970), but see 9314 and 9315 for the earlier editions. Provenance: Signature of Hattie Cousins at top edge of front cover. Two small chips from the fore-edge margin of the front wrapper, tiny chips from spine ends, a very good copy. No copies of this edition are recorded by OCLC. A remarkably nice copy of a rare book.
