SAN FRANCISCO - LOS ANGELES AIR PACKET COMPANY (TO BE INCORPORATED) AN INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN A NEW ENTERPRISE SERVING COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY. San Francisco: San Francisco - Los Angeles Air Packet Company, n.d. [Circa 1923-1928.]. 25.3x16.5 cm, pp. [1-10] [11-12 blank] (not numbered), 2 illustrations, 1 map, original pictorial tan wrappers printed in dark brown, stapled. First edition. A prospectus for air service between San Francisco Bay Cities and Los Angeles with a stopover in Bakersfield. The brochure sets forth the company's business plan and projected fares, cost of operation and earnings. The double-page illustration is from a photograph of a Vickers Type 170 Vanguard, a large 24-seat biplane airliner operated by Instone Air Line (founded 1919; absorbed with other other private airlines into Imperial Airways in 1924), in service from London to Paris, the same model to be used for the San Francisco - Los Angeles route. The frontispiece illustration is from a photograph of the forward end of the aircraft's cabin. The map shows the projected air route. Some light damp stains to text paper, staples rusty, a good copy. The only copy reported by OCLC is held by the California State Library. (#167647).
