Stutz sold his shares of his Stutz Motor Car Co. to Alan Ryan and founded two new companies, H.C.S. Motor Car Company and Stutz Fire Engine Company. In 1924 he sold the fire engine company to concentrate on the car company. Stutz fire engines were built by the Stutz Fire Engine Co. of Indianapolis, Indiana, from 1919 to 1929 when A. C.
