DAS INDISCHE GRABMAL. ROMAN. Berlin: Im Deutschen Verlag, [1938]. Small octavo, pp. [1-4] 5-243 [244]: [245: printer's imprint] [246-248: ads], publisher's red boards stamped in gold and blind. Later edition. An adventure novel filmed by Fritz Lang in 1938 in two parts, "Le Tigre du Bengale" (82 minutes) and "Le Tombeau hindou" (88 minutes). A spectacular tale set in India and one of the biggest money makers of the films made in Nazi Germany. A German architect runs away with the maharajah of Eschnapur's fiancee but is caught and thrown in the dungeon, while his relatives arrive from Europe looking for him and the maharajah's brother is scheming to usurp the throne. A retched copy of this film tie-in edition with lots of bookseller and private owner stamps, tape ghosts on the endpapers, etc., but the film still photo jacket is in very good condition and is quite suitable for transfer to a better copy of the book. The jacket is pretty scarce. (#171280).
