Fifteen stories, the first ten reprinted in slightly revised form from his earlier book, MASQUERADES: STUDIES IN THE MORBID (1924). The author " ... spent most of his life painstakingly investigating unexplained phenomena, and collected the most fascinating in his GHOST BOOK (1955). He wrote several fictional ghost stories, which read just like his factual accounts. An early collection was MASQUERADES (1924), followed by FIFTEEN ODD STORIES (1935)." - Ashley, Who's Who in Horror and Fantasy Fiction, pp. 116-7. Wilson, Shadows in the Attic, p. 328.
