A single sheet, measuring approximately 20.5x224.4 cm (8 x 93.5 inches), with printed title leaf and sixteen photographs by William Henry Jackson, folded, accordion style, into a padded imitation leather folding box designed to look like a leather-bound book. A similar, but later, issue of Thayer's portfolio of Jackson's photographs of Colorado canyons is pictured on page 199 of Mautz, Biographies of Western Photographers (2018). The sheet of plates is fine; The delicate box has been professionally mended, most noticeably closing a tear along the outer front joint. (#173522).
