(#174158) PEACHES COUNTY OF FRESNO CALIFORNIA [cover title]. California, Fresno County, California Peach, Incorporated Fig Growers.

PEACHES COUNTY OF FRESNO CALIFORNIA [cover title]. [Fresno, California: California Peach & Fig Growers, Incorporated], n.d. [1922]. Single sheet, 23x60 cm, folded to make 12 panels, printed in red and black. 6 illustrations including one on outer panels. A folder promoting the California Peach & Fig Growers, Incorporated, founded in 1916, and the expansion of the California dried peach industry, providing general information and statistics and details on the cooperative's marketing, education and research. In 1920 the cooperative undertook the marketing of dried figs as well as peaches. In 1919 Fresno County harvested approximately one-third of California's peach crop. However, when this folder was produced peach tree plantings, particularly of the drying variety, had declined over the past five years, perhaps due to the planting of vineyards that "claimed the attention of practically everyone in the San Joaquin Valley." Mild rubbing along several folds, a nearly fine copy. (#174158).
