Olsen, Bob (pseudonym of Alfred Johannes Olsen, Jr.). FOUR DIMENSIONAL SURGERY [short story]. Typewritten manuscript, signed [TMsS]. N.d., but 1928 or earlier. 35 leaves, 8.5x11 inch yellow paper stock, carbon copy. Olsen's second published story first appeared in AMAZING STORIES, February 1928. It is part of his Four Dimensional series, a sequel to "The Four Dimensional Roller-Press," published in AMAZING STORIES, June 1927. "A sometimes humorous series based on a geometric concept of the fourth dimension, which, according to the author, can be attained by spatial manipulation of objects in our three-dimensional world. Yet the fourth dimension is also another realm of being, an other-world or parallel world, into which one may penetrate ... While not a great writer, one of the more competent members of Gernsback's stable, who sometimes wrote with a light touch. From internal evidence Olsen must have had a good background in mathematics and biology" (Bleiler). Bleiler, Science-Fiction: The Gernsback Years 1081.
