GEOLOGY, HYDROLOGY, AND WATER QUALITY IN THE FRESNO AREA, CALIFORNIA, by R. W. Page and R. A. LeBlanc. Prepared in Cooperation with the California Department of Water Resources. Open-file Report. Menlo Park, California: U.S. Department of the Interior. Geological Survey. Water Resources Division, 1969. 26.5x20 cm (large octavo), pp. [i-ii] iii-vii [viii] 1-70, maps, graphs, figures and tales in the text, 21 maps in folder at rear, mimeographed from typewritten copy, olive-green wrappers printed in black. First edition. The object of the study in the Fresno area and in studies of other contiguous regions in the San Joaquin Valley (Kings and Tulare counties) was to determine the suitability for importing and storing water in its aquifer (in technical terms: "underground storage of large but variable quantities of water through artificial recharge"). The fieldwork for this study was done in 1962 and 1963 and this final report was prepared under the general supervision of R. Stanley Lord, district chief in charge of water-resources investigations in California. Effaced institutional ink stamp on front cover, overlapping cover edges a bit wrinkled, a very good copy. The maps are in excellent condition. (#175505).
