TYPEWRITTEN LETTER, SIGNED. 1 1/2 pages. Dated 10 February n.y. [1983]. To "Michelle [Michele B. Slung]. Signed "Tom." On standard letter-size plain paper stock. A nice chatty letter by Disch to Michele B. Slung (b. 1947), American author, anthologist and reviewer, about reviewing books for TWILIGHT ZONE MAGAZINE ("I do fuss over them, and often wonder if it's worth it"), a Tanith Lee story in the DODD, MEAD GALLERY OF HORROR ("You're right about the Tanith Lee story: it's exactly the same situation as in THE HUNGER") and Disch's story "The Asian Shore," which leads to his conclusion: "Oh dear, now I'm thinking my life took a wrong turning. I should have aimed at being a travel writer, not a book reviewer; They're the ones who have all the real fun. Lord, I do get stircrazy in February!" The letter is tanned, worn at edges and chipped along two mailing folds, but not brittle; about good overall. (#176547).
