(#177037) SPACEWARP. November 1949 ., Arthur H. Rapp, number 2 volume 6.

Saginaw, Michigan: Arthur H. Rapp, November 1949 (volume 6, number 2). Large octavo, single issue, mimeographed from typewritten copy, stapled. SPACEWARP, one of the best fanzines of the 1940s, has a long history -- beginning in April 1947 and ending in the 1970s. These issues date from its early years, mimeographed issues following the rare early issues which were hectographed. "SPACEWARP became quickly one of fandom's favorites, after its conversion to mimeography in 1948" (Warner). From a 60-copy first issue Rapp worked SPACEWARP's circulation up to about 125 copies. The first series lasted for 46 issues, ending with an issue published in October 1952. Occasional issues followed, mostly produced for FAPA and SAPS mailings. Pavlat and Evans, Fanzine Index (1965), p. 112. See Warner, All Our Yesterdays, pp. 236; 287 and Warner, A Wealth of Fable, pp. 128-130. Damp stained throughout, light except for front cover, a good copy. (#177037).
