Single sheet, 44x41 cm, folded to make 16 panels, printed in blue and brown, 13 illustrations, 1 map. Promotes Sanger, California, "the Nation's Christmas Tree City," as a place to live and work. Mentions the "importance of nearby Pine Flat Dam construction" which will bring new industry to the region. The construction of the Pine Flat Dam across the Kings River began in 1947 and was completed in 1954. Additionally, the leaflet promotes "outdoor fun" in the nearby Sierra Nevada and the verso is devoted to a large map of the Sierra north and west of Sanger, from Yosemite National Park south to Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks and "distances from Sanger, California," to various outdoor recreation areas, including "Sanger Lake (to be)." In 1949, the city was designated the "Nation's Christmas Tree City" by the U.S. Postal Service. A fine copy. (#177200).
