Pacific Greyhound Lines was incorporated in 1929 as Pacific Transportation Securities. It was renamed Pacific Greyhound Lines in 1930. It was formed to consolidate smaller bus companies operating in California and along the Pacific Coast, including Southern Pacific Motor Transport Co., a bus subsidiary formed by the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1927. At the time of publication of this promotional brochure Pacific Greyhound had consolidated nineteen bus lines, two of which it acquired in 1936.
